Underwater Dock Lights For Commercial Properties
The true allure of a waterfront restaurant, bar or hotel isn't it's great food, drinks or service, it's the incredible view of the water. A beautiful water view calms your nerves and relaxes your soul. Your customers come back as much for the peace they feel from watching the water as they do for your great food, generous drinks or impeccable service. But what do you do when the sun goes down? What do your customers have to look at then? Overhead lights will allow your customers to see the water, but the glare from harsh lights ruins the effect. Underwater dock lights solve this problem. There light doesn't just reflect off of the water, it illuminates it giving the water a peaceful glow that attracts both customers and sea creatures. Many restaurants and bars that have installed underwater dock lights report increased foot traffic and boat traffic. Underwater dock lights will not only increase night time traffic to your business, they will keep keep your customers there longer. The glow from the lights will give your establishment a serene ambiance they wont be able to find any where else. They will also love watching the many fish and other sea creatures that are drawn to the lights. As an added bonus, the lights will illuminate your docks much better then conventional lighting increasing night time safety.
What You Will Need
These are the items you will need to install your Shadow-Caster Underwater LED's on your dock, pier or seawall.
- Lights- With three different sizes you can choose one that fits your budget and gives you the light intensity you want.
- Mounting Brackets- I have a company that makes the brackets. The price for each bracket depends on what light they are for and how many you order. Usually $20-$30 each.
- AC to DC power converter- The lights use DC power. You will need an AC to DC power converter to hook them up to shore power. You can run up to 6 lights from one converter. I have a company that sells them for about $125 each.
- Watertight Box with Cable Glands- This works as your junction box and keeps the power converter and electrical connections dry. The box is about $18 + the cost of the cable glands. Total should not be more then $30.
- You may also need to have the lights built with extra lengths of power cord, depending on the layout of your dock. Extra power cord is $1/foot.
Shadow-Caster also sells a wireless controller that will let you dim, strobe, fade or pulse the lights. One controller will run up to 8 lights. $389
